PV Slates

Designed to blend into the roof as seamlessly as possible, PV Slates are barely distinguishable from the slates surrounding them. As they’re available in both grey and black, they are suitable to be used with a variety of different slates. Just let us know the details of the one you’re using and we can advise on the best match.

GB-Sol’s knowledge and experience in the industry is second to none as we installed the first solar roof in the UK in 1994. So you know you can trust that your new PV Slate system will not only look great but perform exceptionally well too. We provide a 10 year product and performance warranty.

The solar PV Slate is a photovoltaic unit that visually emulates a row of 3 standard 24” x 12” (600 mm x 300 mm) ‘Duchess’ roofing slates. PV Slates are installed using three stainless steel screws through pre-prepared holes along the top edge of the unit and two stainless steel roof hooks at the bottom edge of the slate, on a 270 mm batten gauge.

The product is designed to be linked together in a series of ‘strings’ to feed DC electrical power into a suitable inverter for either on-site consumption or export.

The system can provide a peak PV output of 1kWp from a roof area of around 7.5m2.

RIS

The RIS system was designed in the UK by GB-Sol in 1994 and has evolved into the perfect solution for mounting integrated PV panels within a roof surface and to withstand all weather conditions experienced in the UK and beyond.

In 2013 it was awarded a Solar Power Portal Award for its innovation.

Solar Car Ports

‘Sol-Port’ Solar Carports are dual-purpose structures providing cover at the same time as generating green electricity with an income from the Feed In Tariff. Financially the solar carport structure will pay for itself with payback varying by location and orientation. Once the initial cost is covered, the FIT income will generate a return on the investment. The solar carports can be provided with internal rain water drainage, optional lighting and vandal resistant electrics, you choose the specification. Maybe even add charging ports for electric cars or site vehicles. You will encourage greater usage of your car parking, and maximise returns through increased usage and PV generation income. GB-Sol can provide a full turnkey design and installation service anywhere in the UK.

Battery Storage Systems

Battery storage is becoming an increasingly popular option with solar PV. It provides the opportunity to store the solar electricity generated during the day for use later in the evening. This reduces the need to export excess energy and then purchase it from the grid later at an increased price.
