GB-Sol - an independent UK solar company

Established in 1994, GB-Sol is an independent UK company, manufacturing solar PV panels and mounting systems at our spacious factory just north of Cardiff.  A spin-out from Cardiff University, GB-Sol has been at the forefront of solar power generation for several decades. Today, we continue to lead in the application of solar through our stunning PV Slates, Infinity & Integrated solar roofs, ruggedised panels and marine applications.

All products are manufactured in our ISO 9001-2015 certified factory.  Solar panels comply with TUV SUD accreditation, IEC 61215 and IEC 61730.

GB-Sol is one of the longest-established solar PV companies in the World.  We own our own factory, substantial intellectual property, and have mature processes to ensure that installed systems are robust and safe.

Quality & Reliability

All of our panels are made in an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified factory ensuring that they are of the highest standard. With 30 years of experience, we can actually show our products match our warranty claims. GB-Sol are members of Made in Britain.

Waste minimisation

GB-Sol is a member of PV Cycle and our factory is a registered collection point where broken or end of life solar panels can be brought for proper recycling. All electronic waste is suitably dealt with and recycled under the WEEE regulations.

Energy efficiency & carbon emissions

We minimise our carbon footprint, keep our suppliers as local as possible, use recycled aluminium and minimise our packaging.  Our factory has a 70kW solar PV array on the roof, providing much of the power needed.  GB-Sol has been top-rated solar supplier in the Ethical Consumer magazine for many years.

Responsibility

At GB-Sol we try to ensure that our supply partners have high standards and play no part in slavery, exploitation of children, conflict minerals or other forms of corruption.  You can download our Supplier Code of Conduct here.
